Our Open Day is a tailored experience, designed with our parents in mind, and will provide you with the chance to meet our experienced educators, learn about our leading sport and music programs, and explore our award-winning campuses and boarding house. Early Learning Centre
We are proud to be one of only a few early learning centres in Canberra that offers a play-based curriculum informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, in conjunction with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP). We ensure children receive a tailored experience in an innovative learning environment based on their abilities. In addition, children benefit from engaging with a specialist music teacher, a teacher-librarian, a French teacher, and a PE teacher as part of their regular learning.
Junior School (Prep-Year 6)
In the Junior School, we implement the Australian Curriculum within the framework of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Co-educational until Year 3, and girls-only from Year 4 onwards, we commit to teaching all students foundation skills in literacy and numeracy. Children are encouraged to take risks in their learning, identify with strong role models, and engage in higher-order thinking. Our comprehensive Signature Programs are targeted, age-appropriate programs which complement the curriculum to equip students for life in the 21st century.
Senior School (Years 7-12)
CGGS is an engaging and supportive learning environment with a curriculum that reaches well beyond the classroom. Students are offered a physically and intellectually inspiring education which allows them to reach their full potential. In Years 11 and 12, students either study for the ACT Senior Secondary Certificate, awarded by the ACT Board of Secondary Studies (BSSS), or International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). Our Pastoral Care program is designed to support the social and emotional growth of the students in order to allow them to perform at their best.
